Mezzadro Is The Fascinating And Ironic Creation By Achille And Pier Giacomo Castiglioni Designed In 1957. After Many Years, The Zanotta Stool, Made Of Pieces Of Wood And Metal That Evoke The Agricultural World, Is A Design Icon And A Tribute To Peasant Culture Of Our Country. The Starting Idea Was Given By The Seat Of A Tractor, Of Which They Reversed The Orientation Of The Steel Stem That Supported It To Make The Seat Elastic And Sprung, Using A Wooden Element That Resembles The Yoke Of A Plow To Give Stability. The Small And Surprisingly Comfortable Seat Is Attached To The Structure With A Simple Screw That Is Tightened With Bare Hands, Without Having To Use Any Mechanical Tool. The Mezzadro Stool, In Production Since 1971 And Available In Various Colors, Is Present In Many Permanent Collections Including The Moma In New York.
