The Riihitie Pot Holders, Designed By Aino Aalto For The Terrace Of The House She And Alvar Aalto Built On Helsinki’S Riihitie Road, Were Part Of The Collection That The Couple Presented At The Universal Exhibition In Paris In 1937, But Never Went Into Production. 80 Years Later, Artek Launched Ceramic Planters, Which Look For The Name From The Address Of Their Original Setting, On The Occasion Of The Centenary Of Finland’S Independence. Reinterpreted In Three Dimensions For Indoor Use, The Vase Is Handcrafted And Its Organic, Wavy Design Reflects The Spouses’ Love For Nature. The Blue And White Colors Are Inspired By The Ceramic Tiles Of The Muuratsalo Experimental House, Also Known As The Family’S Summer Retreat.
